Born a Tairen fisherwoman. Became the Amyrlin Seat raised from the Blue Ajah. Was deposed by Elaida. Her Warder was Alric.

Physical Description She is of medium height, handsome with a strong face and blue eyes. (TGH,Ch4) Since she was stilled she looks young enough to pass for an Accepted or even a novice. (ACoS,Ch8) She has fair skin and blue eyes. (ACoS,Ch9)

Chronology

• Born circa 958 NE, Siuan Sanche grows up the daughter of a poor fisherman in Tear. At the first sign of ability to channel she is sent to the White Tower.
• As novices and Accepted, Siuan, Leane, Sheriam get into more than their share of trouble while Carlinya is a bit more circumspect. (TFoH,Ch26)
• On her twenty-second birthday, Accepted Siuan argues too vehemently with her history teacher, Anaiya, and gets two months of kitchen duty. (TFoH,Ch26)
• While still Accepted, Moiraine and Siuan are with the Amyrlin Seat Tamra Ospenya when Gitara Moroso has a Foretelling that the Dragon Reborn has been born on Dragonmount. Tamra swears them to secrecy. (NS,Ch2, TGH,Ch8)
• Tamra summons all the Accepted including Moiraine and Siuan to a meeting where she announces the death of Gitara and a bounty for all women who recently gave birth. (NS,Ch3)
• Escorted by Tower Guards, Moiraine and Siuan ride to a camp south of Alindaer and begin collecting names. (NS,Ch4)
• They collect names for the rest of the day. Meilyn and Elaida pay them a call. (NS,Ch5)
• Moiraine and Siuan are assigned to transcribing the lists of names. They keep their own list of the most promising candidates. (NS,Ch6)
• Moiraine and Siuan figure out that Tamra is sending searchers to find the Dragon Reborn. (NS,Ch7)
• Moiraine and Siuan practice for the test for the shawl. Elaida drills them, beating them mercilessly. (NS,Ch8)
• Moiraine gives Siuan a hug before she leaves for test for the shawl. (NS,Ch9)
• Merean comes for Siuan to be tested. She passes. After they both return, they plan to put mice in Elaida's bed, but they are caught and switched. (NS,Ch10, NS,Ch17)
• In formal ceremony Moiraine and Siuan are raised to the shawl. They both select the Blue Ajah and are escorted to the Blue Ajah quarters. (NS,Ch11)
• As new Aes Sedai, Moiraine and Siuan plan to begin their own search, but their plans are squashed when Tamra assigns Moiraine to distribute the bounty and Cetalia conscripts Siuan for the Blue Ajah eyes-and-ears. (NS,Ch12)
• Moiraine and Siuan deposit their stipends and order new dresses. (NS,Ch13)
• Sierin Vayu relieves Moiraine of the bounty but orders her to remain in Tar Valon. Faced with a planned future, Moiraine and Siuan agree that Siuan with remain to follow clues in the White Tower while Moiraine will run away to begin the search. (NS,Ch14)
• While working in the Blue Ajah eyes-and-ears organization in the White Tower, Siuan discovers that the Black Ajah is killing off the searchers sent by Tamra to find the Dragon Reborn. She journeys to Canluum and finds Moiraine. She goes ahead to Chachin. (NS,Ch18)
• Moiraine searches the rougher parts of Chachin for Siuan, but she is in a classy inn, The Evening Star. They make a plan to enter the Aesdaishar Palace. (NS,Ch23)
• They go to the Aesdaishar Palace as Moiraine Damodred and her maid Suki. Suki scouts around and learns that Lady Ines Demain is in seclusion. (NS,Ch24)
• Suki continues to dig for information on Lady Ines Demain and her son Rahien. Bukama reports to her that Merean spent the day with Brys. (NS,Ch25)
• Moiraine and Siuan figure out that the Black Ajah does not know the Dragon Reborn is still a baby. Siuan returns to the White Tower to continue working from inside. (NS,Epilogue)
• Siuan Sanche is raised to the Amyrlin Seat in 988 NE at age thirty. (Guide, LoC,Ch35) Note: The date of 985 NE cited in TGH and TDR Glossaries is incorrect. This has been corrected in later editions.
• Siuan names Sheriam as her Mistress of Novices. (TPoD,Ch17)
• In 996 NE, Siuan Sanche makes a state tour through Cairhien, Tear, Illian and Caemlyn. She publicly berates Gareth Bryne when he questions the orders she gives Queen Morgase regarding the Murandy border. (TFoH,Ch12)
• Siuan travels to Fal Dara with a full escort. Lord Agelmar and Ronan greet her in the Fal Dara courtyard. (TGH,Ch2)
• Agelmar gives Siuan the Horn. She holds an audience with Moiraine and Leane and exchanges news. (TGH,Ch4)
• Siuan and Moiraine discuss Rand. Siuan, who can see ta'veren, says he blazed like the sun terrifying her. They plan to have him take the Horn to Illian. (TGH,Ch5)
• Siuan participates in partially Healing Mat. She, Moiraine and Verin discuss the Dark Prophecy. (TGH,Ch7)
• Siuan, Moiraine and Verin meet with Rand and tell him he is the Dragon Reborn. (TGH,Ch8)
• As she prepares to leave Fal Dara, Siuan is wounded by an arrow meant for Rand. (TGH,Ch9)
• Siuan's procession leaves Fal Dara heading west to Medo. She is furious when she learns that Moiraine, Liandrin and Verin left without warning. (TGH,Ch12)
• Siuan gives Egwene and Nynaeve a channeling lesson on their way to Tar Valon. (TGH,Ch18)
• Siuan arrives with other Aes Sedai at the end of Nynaeve' testing and anoints her as Accepted. (TGH,Ch23)
• Siuan makes Min view lots of the sisters in the White Tower. (TGH,Ch38)
• Verin tells Siuan that Rand declared himself and the Mat blew the Horn of Valere. She gives Siuan the Horn. (TDR,Ch12)
• Siuan gives punishments to Elayne, Egwene and Nynaeve, then sends Elayne to Sheriam for further punishment. (TDR,Ch13)
• Siuan assigns Egwene and Nynaeve to hunt the Black Ajah. (TDR,Ch14)
• Siuan leads the circle as she, Alanna, Anaiya, Brendas, Leane, Serafelle, Sheriam, Verin and two other Aes Sedai Heal Mat. (TDR,Ch18)
• Siuan and Leane visit Mat and tell him he has to stay in the White Tower. Siuan issues orders for all of the bridge guards not to let Mat out of Tar Valon. (TDR,Ch20)
• Siuan is present for the end of Egwene's Accepted test. (TDR,Ch23)
• Siuan visits Nynaeve in the kitchen, sending Egwene and Elayne away with Laras. She tells Nynaeve that Sheriam found another Gray Man and that "Else Grinwell" was a hoax. She asks if Elayne will be going, too, then gives Nynaeve money for the trip. (TDR,Ch29)
• Min delivers Moiraine's message to Siuan. Siuan tells her to stay in the White Tower posing as Elmindreda. (TSR,Ch1)
• Min tells Siuan of her viewing of Logain. Siuan finally receives news from Moiraine that Rand has taken the Stone of Tear and Callandor. (TSR,Ch17)
• Siuan calls a meeting of the Hall and presents the news of Rand. The Hall reluctantly but unanimously agrees to support Rand. (TSR,Ch47)
• Elaida deposes Siuan who is beaten, stilled and jailed. Min and Laras help Siuan and Leane escape and they pick up Logain on the way out of Tar Valon. (TSR,Ch47)
• Min, Siuan and Leane are arrested in Kore Springs. They escape with Logain. (TFoH,Ch1)
• Siuan, Leane, Min and Logain make their way to Lugard where Siuan learns that the rebel Aes Sedai are gathering in Salidar. (TFoH,Ch11)
• Siuan, Leane, Min and Logain arrive at Salidar. They meet Anaiya, Carlinya, Myrelle and Sheriam. They quiz Siuan and Leane to make sure who they are. (TFoH,Ch26)
• Siuan and Leane goad the Salidar Aes Sedai into action telling them that the Red Ajah set up Logain as a false Dragon. They agree to let Siuan run the eyes-and-ears network. (TFoH,Ch27)
• As punishment, the Salidar Aes Sedai give Siuan and Leane to Gareth Bryne as personal maids. (TFoH,Ch28)
• Siuan and Leane are there when Elayne, Nynaeve and the others arrive in Salidar. Nynaeve and Siuan strike a bargain. Nynaeve will teach Siuan Tel'aran'rhiod and Siuan will let Nynaeve study her stilling. (TFoH,Ch50)
• Nynaeve studies Siuan, Leane and Logain to learn about stilling. (TFoH,Ch54)
• Nynaeve takes Siuan to Tel'aran'rhiod but cuts the lesson short when she spots Moghedien. (TFoH,Ch54)

• Nynaeve Heals Siuan and Leane. Afterwards, Siuan is overwhelmed by the loss of Alric. Siuan and Leane are restored to Aes Sedai, but they are much weaker than they used to be. They meet with Elayne and Nynaeve and agree to continue their working relationship. (LoC,Ch30)
• Delana agrees to help Siuan play Romanda against Janya and Lelaine with the goal of having Sheriam let Siuan join in their meeting with the Wise Ones in Tel'aran'rhiod. (LoC,Ch30)
