She is beautiful with large, dark eyes and long black hair with touches of white. She is in her early forties. (NS,Ch22)

In Fal Moran, Edeyn takes Lan as her lover when he is fifteen. (NS,Ch16)
She leaves Fal Moran and begins a campaign across the Borderlands to raise an army to reclaim Malkier from the Blight. (NS,Ch16)
In the Aesdaishar Palace, Edeyn swears loyalty to Lan as King of Malkier. Later she tells him that she plans to marry him to her daughter Iselle. She takes him to bed. (NS,Ch22)
Edeyn intends to give Lan's daori to Iselle then force her and Lan to marry. (NS,Ch26)
Edeyn falls apart and cuts her hair short when her daughter is murdered. (NS,Epilogue)
