Yes, there will be an update for the prequel.
At the moment, the only time frame I will commit to is "before Book 11 comes out."
While I welcome comments or general questions about the WOTFAQ, I would prefer that you do not email theories to me.
The WOTFAQ is (almost) exclusively based on discussion in the Usenet group rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan, with the emphasis on "discussion". If you have a thought or theory about WOT that you think should be in the FAQ, you are invited to join the newsgroup and post your theory there. If it generates sufficient discussion and/or consensus, it will probably get added to the FAQ during the next update.
As a general policy, I do not accept or use theories which have not been thoroughly discussed in the newsgroup, so emailing them to me alone is basically a waste of your time.
The one exception to this rule is suggestions for the "Sources" section. If you have a real-world reference or parallel to WOT which is not in Section 3 of the FAQ, feel free to email it to me and I may include it next time around, though you can of course post it on the newsgroup instead.
(If you are unfamiliar with Usenet and newsgroups, this is a pretty good place to start.)
Actually, yes, and this is important, because I'm changing the rules a bit. If you do decide to email me regarding the FAQ, please put a "WOTFAQ:" tag in the Subject line.
The ever-increasing amount of spam I receive at this email address has made it progressively more of a headache to sort out what is relevant and what is not, since of course I don't know 99% of the people who email me about the FAQ. Therefore, in the interests of me not going crazy and actually getting your mail, I ask that you put a "WOTFAQ:" tag (minus the quotes) at the beginning of the Subject line of any email.
Starting very soon, any email I receive at this address from unknown parties without the "WOTFAQ:" tag WILL BE DELETED UNREAD. Please take note.
Enjoy, and thanks for reading the WOTFAQ!
